We have entered a time in American Government where the executive branch rules by decree and regulation without the votes of the elected voices of the people. The most recent example of this is with issues dealing with the 2nd amendment. It should be reminded that this is happening at the same time as the Fast and Furious scandal is continuing to unfold. This scandal involves deliberately allowing guns to reach the hands of criminals in America and Mexico with the intent of demonizing the 2nd Amendment. Prior to this Obama hinted at such shady dealing which we now know about:

During a March 30 meeting between Jim and Sarah Brady and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, at which Obama “dropped in,” the president reportedly told Brady, “I just want you to know that we are working on it (gun control)….We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

The attack on our rights have continued since.
  The Justice department recently announced that it would begin requiring additional notification about gun certain gun buyers. Now the ATF has made it official. The ATF has sent a letter our to gun dealers notifying them of the necessary paperwork that will now be required when they have a someone buying multiple guns of a particular type. The letter orders firearms retailers to “Submit to ATF reports of multiple sales or other dispositions whenever, at one time or during any five consecutive business days, you sell to an unlicensed person or otherwise dispose of two or more semi-automatic rifles capable of accepting a detachable magazine and with a caliber greater than .22 (including .223/5.56 caliber).” The directive takes effect from August 14, 2011.
   This heightened scrutiny of the gun buyers come on the heels of reports about the ATF visiting the homes of gun buyers that fit these profiles. Say what you may about guns, but you can not deny the evidence of when the government goes beyond whats is mandated by law. A lot of people will not care because guns are seen as bad, but once the government sees it can act without consequence it will only continue to snowball without knowing the end.

  When the government makes it difficult for law abiding citizens to acquire guns then only the criminals have them.

However not part of this news be warned that many believe that this is heading towards the regulation of a no buy list, like the no fly list for the TSA. Our rights are being whittled away.
