ALDOUS HUXLEY

Here is an Interview with Aldous Huxley, the author of must read works such as Brave New World and Brave New World Revisited. While giving the insight of the author of such a iconic dystopian novel as Brave New World he gives us an insight into the thoughts of the upper crust of the British elite on the future. He is a product of a family having a history of being on the forefront of British science and arts. The most notable members being his Grandfather Thomas Henry Huxley(early supporter of Darwin and natural selection) and brother Julian Huxley(1st director of UNESCO, supporter of eugenics, coined the idea of trans-humanism). Due to the subject matter of what Aldous speaks of in this interview and in his books mentioned earlier it is important to note what kind of insight into the world's future he would have because of his brother Julian's involvement in UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) while believing in the use of eugenics displayed in this quote: “Once the full implications of evolutionary biology are grasped, eugenics will inevitably become part of the religion of the future, or of whatever complex of sentiments may in the future take the place of organized religion.” (Julian Huxley 1936)
